Afus Kite School, Essaouira

Yes — Essaouira’s bay offers wide sandy beaches, steady trade winds, and safe zones for beginners. With certified instructors and progressive lessons, kitesurfing here is accessible if you’re ready to learn.

If you cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled lesson or camp, we will provide a full refund or a credit. (Adapt this with your exact policy.)

Absolutely — we offer tailor-made packages for all levels, individual preferences, and holiday durations (lessons + accommodation + breakfast + transport when needed).

Yes! Beyond kitesurfing and surfing, you can enjoy SUP, windsurfing, quad biking, boat trips, exploring the Medina, and more.

The best months are April through September, when the trade winds are strongest and most consistent. Shoulder months (March, October) are also good.

Expect Atlantic-coast conditions: the sea can be cool (so wetsuits recommended), winds pick up in the afternoon, and skies are often clear. Winter months have less wind but still surfing is possible.

From Marrakech you can take a 2-hour drive (taxi or transfer) to Essaouira. Also flights to Essaouira-Mogador airport exist in some seasons.

Typically lessons run for 2 hours as a standard session for beginners. For camps or advanced levels you may spend more hours per day.

No previous kitesurfing experience required. You should be comfortable in the water (able to swim), but beginners are very welcome and we start from fundamentals (kite control, body-drag, board start).

Minimum typically around 12 years old, though some schools take younger children in private lessons if conditions and size/weight allow.

You’ll need swimwear underneath, a wetsuit (provided or recommended depending on season), and we’ll provide helmet, harness and other safety gear. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, towel, and water bottle.
